Find The Most Appropriate Tier Sheets Today

By Leticia Morton

Tier sheets is a thin pallet sized sheet that is made of heavy laminated Kraft paperboard, plastic or sometimes corrugated fiberboard. It is used as a unit load support device delivery of vehicles and transportation of products. The structural strength of the sheet supports the weight of the product load when they are supported by a a pallet board, conveyor surface and a flat load carrying surface.

There are some benefits that result from using the slip sheet. For one, using them instead of the wooden pallets makes it possible for more products to be put into the material handling containers. This is because they do not use as much space as the traditional ones did. They also do not require any maintenance as they are easily replaced. Another thing is that they are way lighter than wooden pallets and thus reduce the shipping costs.

There are two types of the sheets. The type is usually determined by the number of lip extensions and the material that it is made up of. Conventionally the shape and dimension of the sheet is determined by the size of the product or of the load. You can choose the different types according to the desired use of the sheet.

The first type of the slip sheet is known as the single lip slip sheet. This one has a single lip which is placed facing the unit load shaped like a regular rectangle and the delivery truck door. Apart from minimizing the clearance of the travel path it seeks to maximize the space utilization of the delivery car and of the processes of loading and unloading.

We also have the multiple lip slip sheet. This one is generally used on a container which is placed on a delivery vehicle of the ocean or a rail car during the required patterns of loading and unloading. This makes it possible for the device used to have various loading and offloading options. This will be determined depending on the pattern of all the lips remaining.

There are several options of handling the lips when you are loading goods for transporting. The first portion is leaving the lip extended so that there would be clearance for the travel path which will consequently allow more clearance for the travel path. The second method of handling the lip is by taping it against the unit load in the event that more push pull activities are needed. The last thing is to cut the lip when it is no longer required.

Before you settle on the design and the type of slip sheet to use there are a couple of things you should consider. First are the size, the weight and load of the load. There is also the storage method to be used and whether or not you will also use a pallet. Another equally important factor is the conditions of traveling and storage like the humidity levels and the temperature of the environment.

Ensure you find only the best tier sheets there is in the market. Do not pass an opportunity to learn something new about them. Possessing the necessary knowledge about this sheet will prove rewarding at one time or another.
