Effect Of SEO To Your Online Marketing

By Wilma Mortell

SEO Applies to Every Website

The search engines can't include your site in their search results if they can't crawl and index your site. Even though you've published a page, for example, it doesn't mean that it's publicly available. To prevent sites that aren't meant to be seen by the public yet from showing up in search results, you can essentially "turn off" access to the site while you build it and make it ready for launch. It isn't unusual for a site builder to forget to re-enable that functionality once the site is finished.

Allowing access helps, of course, but it isn't the only thing you need to do to help the search bots. Sites that are messily coded, for example, can fail to rank for keywords that obviously apply to them. Everything about your site has to be set up to make it easier for bots to see and catalog the information on it, including the code its made out of, the text that is displayed, and the metadata associated with things like page names and images.

It's possible that your site isn't ranking as well as it should because of one of these factors. An SEO services company can help you figure out what steps you need to take to improve your ranking. Of course, there is more to your online presence than SEO. You can usually find an SEO company that performs multiple services related to SEO, including site design and social media management services.

Many people don't think of SEO as something they need to worry about. After all, if your site contains important, useful information it should succeed, right? SEO can feel like you're gaming the system, or trying to promote something that isn't able to succeed on its merits. In reality, there is nothing wrong or dishonest about optimizing your site to make it easier for the search engines to find and catalog your page.

But, does organic page ranking really affect your site's popularity? The short answer is, "Yes." Search engines are still the most popular way to find the information we're looking for. This includes local businesses that provide goods and services as well as information or entertainment. It's also important to remember that most people won't progress beyond the first few pages of results when they search for something. It doesn't matter how good your site is, and how useful the information, if the search engines don't return your site in the first few pages of results, no one will see your site.

So, how do you get your site to rank in the first few pages? SEO involves a lot of factors. Keywords are, of course, the backbone of all SEO and finding the right keywords for your site is a big part of the process. There is a delicate balance between using these words and overusing them, so finding that balance is another important part of it. Keywords and content aren't all that's involved, though.
